The Story of the SSV Argo
A deep-space survey mission gone wrong. A crew stranded beyond known space. This is their story.
There were many great missions…
Earth and her colonies reaching ever deeper into the Perseus Rift…
Seeking knowledge… and the limits of human courage.
Aboard the Stellar Survey Vessel Argo… Captain Alan Rusk commanded the crew.
They were explorers… charting the uncharted…
Until space itself turned against them.
A ripple in the dark… growing… twisting…
The Rift collapsed inward… and the Argo was pulled into a gravity well no ship could escape…
Light vanished… And humanity disappeared…
…into the mouth of a wormhole.
When the Argo emerged… it was not home.
The stars were wrong. The constellations — unknown.
The ship was broken, half its crew gone… drifting in silence.
Around them an endless field of shattered worlds…
Asteroids the size of continents… drifting through a maze of dust and ruin…
The air tasting of metal and despair…
Captain Alan Rusk gave the only order that mattered…
Find what we can. Repair what we must. Survive.
And so they began — to mine the bones of dead planets… searching for hope among the wreckage… of rich asteroids and forgotten wars.
"Intruders! This is my space! Who dares enter my rich asteroid system… and steal from me!?"
"I don't care about your problems — we will harvest what remains of your ship for parts… let us introduce you to our viruses!"
"Quick! Shields up!"
"Uh captain, we don't have any shields!"
"Then get us out of here on the double!"
"Yes captain, we have one more impulse charge we can use!"
We took on more damage from the Thrakuhn there captain…
We seem to have set down on a mineral-rich asteroid…
This is where repairs will begin!
Look out for viruses and Thrakuhn attacks!
